OIM: Legal Options for Victims of Family Violence



Summary
The legal options for survivors of family violence webinar will provide advocates an orientation to the different legal options available to survivors. Survivors of family violence may be involved with many different systems at the same time (i.e., CPS, Criminal Court, & Family Court). This webinar will provide advocates with resources and options available within these different systems to help survivors feel empowered and confident in accessing the resources available.

Meets HHSC Rule Requirement ยง379.404. cont. (c) Direct service employees and their supervisors must also receive training on the following: (5) Legal options for victims of family violence;

Please note that certificates will be provided only to those individuals who registered and logged into the webinar online.

Amanda Elkanick is a Public Policy Analyst with the Texas Council on Family Violence, dedicated to the development and promotion of effective laws and policies that expand legal options for survivors of family violence. Ms. Elkanick serves as the Caucus liaison for the Legal Advocacy Network. How To Attend
Join the live program from your office, home, or hotel room using a computer for the web portion and telephone for the audio portion. You may ask questions, participate in surveys, and post comments from your computer during the program. You may also invite colleagues to watch the program from a shared computer or projection screen and speakerphone.
