Summary
Texas Health and Human Services agencies and their contractors are required to comply with state and federal civil rights requirements. This presentation will cover the requirements for providers who serve HHS clients.

Meets HHSC Rule Requirement - ยง379.404. cont. (c) Direct service employees and their supervisors must also receive training on the following: (9) Applicable civil rights laws and regulations;

Program Coordinator, Policy - HHSC Civil Rights Office
Paula Traffas has worked in employment and civil rights for 20 years.She taught labor relations and work place safety at Indiana University, then practiced civil rights and employment law in a small firm in Austin. She served as a supervising investigator at TxDOT, Office of Civil Rights for seven years. She has worked for Texas HHSC Civil Rights Office since June 2005 and is currently the Program Coordinator for policy, working on language access and access for people with disabilities.

Credit
